Florida needs to vote every Republican out local on up.

They voted state and county commissioners all republican to name palm beach international airport after Trump. The guy is a felon, sexual predator, and daily breaks the law even when judges tell him no. Tariffs have cost us our reputation in all other countries.. A war was started by him for Netanyahu and his gas buddies, Putin has made money on the war… AND no one asked the people if we wanted the name change so bye to those who thought we wanted the grifter to take over our airport. He gets to give a approved list who he wants to sell his merchandise!!! Snake salesmen presidency …

I think the Orange Menace Administration even cheated to get into office. I just can't prove it, but this is blatant cheating right before our eyes. If this doesn't give people a clue that they never were legit, nothing will.

Thanks for posting Senator Whitehouse's opening speech, Randi. I look forward to his subsequent speeches.

Now here's my solution to defeating the gerrymandering designed to re-establish apartheid in the U.S.: everyone register as a Republican. Then. when these evil politicians do their gerrymandering it will, of necessity, be racial. And that's still illegal.

Another word for CHEATERS is LOSERS. TRUMP and the GOP House & Senate ARE LOSERS. I WANT TO SEE THEM LOSE BIGLY.

If MAGA really knew what they were up too, they’d never vote for them. That’s why they have to cheat!

What a great compilation of crimes and Trumpery! Randi we love you.

Which was worse for America, September 11, 2001,

Or January 6, 2021?

Or November 5, 2024?

Just wondering who whispered in donvicts ear “it’s not illegal to re-draw mid census”Trump is too stupid to think of something like this on his own. Russell Vought is my guess. A civilian living on a military base pulling the strings and attempting to alter history. Thanks Texas! Feel free to secede any old day now, take Louisiana, Tennessee, Indiana, and Alabama with you. I’m embarrassed for this country I served, (USAF 83-87) If I wanted to start a civil war in this country I would do just what’s happening now, so glad I’m 62 and not 26, God help us all, so glad I live in Baja now

Anyone who thinks this is a democracy and not a greed and power drenched totally corrupt kakistocracy/oligopoly/kleptocracy/plutocracy/tyranny/plantation/totalitarian/dictatorship is a fool. Phony rigged elections between these two evil dehumanizing parities in the US cannot and will not help us. The only way we can win is if they both lose. Revolution is needed. Go grip your pillow and cry that this isn't true, and tell me the fucking Democratic Party can help us, but you are wrong. World history is loaded with these moments of utter devastation and the struggle to overturn corrupt power. It ain't over yet folks, but it almost is, and a lot more than voting in a hopelessly corrupt and inhumane system of vested entrenched misanthropic power is needed. Now.

Get in the streets, protest, block some roads, surround the corporate news buildings so they can't get in and report their constant stream of lies and weak apologist disinformation for billionaires. Admit and understand that capitalism is now a curse and death sentence for humanity. Oppose it. Think of something better. Are we too stupid to do better than what we see around us? Form worker and human centered groups and third parties that speak for and represent real people who face low wages, no health insurance and landlords who know only one thing: it's time to raise the rent. Demand that all people deserve a chance at a decent life in a society that does not hate them for being black, queer, socialist, and for thinking that the more people that are allowed to be happy the way they are, the better the world will be. Stop shopping at Amazon and drinking Starbucks, start acting like the world is not meant by some divine force to be a rat race for money only available from those who have it and who get to set and enforce all the rules. Start taking control and actually believing that this shitstorm of oppression we face isn't "just the way it is" but something that human beings with brains and bodies can change. Americans are not ready for the fight they need to face to defeat the corporate fascist kill-off which is coming. Surplus, useless eaters in the minds of the rich will die silently and hidden, will die fighting, or will survive to see the current hierarchy brought down and greed and violence shunned and banned instead of being excused, ignored, or celebrated. I don't expect any of this to happen but it should. The system is shot, it's over, we know it, it's a death sentence for the majority. Only money matters now, and when you don't have enough to pay tribute to the rich with their inflated bills, and mortgages and rents and stolen taxes and interest charges and late fees and $18.00 sandwiches, you are done. That's a lot of people - most of us - done, over, no mercy. A human centered economy IS possible, or we are all collectively too weak and stupid and frightened of our overlords to have it. If we say we can't do it - it isn't possible, well then, we are fucked, no two ways about it. The rich will wipe us out and do whatever they end up doing without us, but as long as we aren't them, we are doomed unless we figure out ways to stop their unchecked plunder. They want it all and we are just ants to be crushed without a thought. The transfer of ordinary wealth and prosperity from the once thinkable idea of a thriving society into only the hands of the rich has brought us here in the USA and we have given our lives to them to help them do it. We can stop feeding their greed, or just let them continue. Donald Fucking Trump does not give a single shit about the people who inhabit this country, and neither do the corporate money soaked Democrats... they just want the rich to get richer and get their little payoff with entry level riches, vacation homes and pandering to those who are "important." That isn't us, so what do we expect from that system? Number one, we need to shut down their propaganda apparatus, go after and disrupt and bring down their media control so it can be replaced with the truth. We can do this, it is not impossible. It can't be. Hack these disinformation systems and silence them - all corporate media is corrupt and dangerous to humanity at this point and must be ended however possible. If Trump can't tweet and be on the news, he can't speak. If the NYT isn't telling us billionaires are oppressed then we won't be subject to thinking that.

Great rant!!

A lot of what you’re talking about — wage stagnation, crushing rent, medical insecurity, corporate influence in politics, and public distrust of institutions is massive. Millions of people across the political spectrum feel economically trapped and politically ignored.

But the answer cannot be “silence the media,” “hack systems,” or decide that only one side deserves to speak. Once any movement starts justifying censorship, intimidation, or sabotage in the name of “truth,” it becomes the same kind of authoritarianism it claims to oppose.

When corporate power is too concentrated, then the solution is more democratic participation, not less:

ELECT PEOPLE WHO WANT TO EXPAND THE COURT!

Vote in massive numbers!

Then fix the courts through lawful reform, accountability, ethics rules, transparency, and democratic processes.

Overturn Citizens United!

End partisan gerrymandering

Fix the DOJ

Restore Anti-trust division

Prosecute fraud!

Support independent journalism,

Build local institutions,

Pressure elected officials,

Vote in primaries,

Run for something or run candidates,

Unionize workplaces,

Boycott companies voluntarily,

Create alternatives people actually want to join,

People absolutely have the right to protest, strike, boycott, and demand a fairer economy. They have the right to argue for universal healthcare, stronger labor protections, antitrust enforcement, campaign finance reform, housing reform, judicial reform, or higher wages. Those are democratic arguments.

But “shut down the press” and “hack media systems” cross a line from activism into coercion. Free societies survive by allowing disagreement — even ugly, frustrating disagreement.

The deeper problem isn’t that Americans are “too stupid.” It’s that fear, outrage, and economic stress make people vulnerable to believing that democracy no longer works. History shows that when people lose faith in institutions entirely, the result is often chaos followed by someone promising order at any cost.

A healthier response is not surrender and not destruction — it’s building something credible enough that ordinary people trust it more than the systems they’re angry at now.

M. St. Mitchels's avatar

I was ranting and spitballing, and yes, you make the correct point about the press. I was fantasizing about having real journalism vs. the corporate censored bullshit and propaganda that we have now. Hate speech can be censored, incitement to violence, etc., but brainwashing people with drivel and propaganda is just numbing their minds so they can be fleeced. In some feminist theory I have read this can be interpreted as a form of violence as it interferes with agency. Ah well, things are complicated. There are many ways people are controlled in our society, but when we see open fascism it is time start removing some blinders. I agree with what you've said. We don't need to censor and hack systems, but we need to compete more effectively in the communication arena, and if we can't lower their voices we need to raise ours significantly. Not to shut down the press, but to replace it with something other than one side of every story, the story the powerful want us to believe. They can say all they want, but there needs to be countervailing information in proportion to their press releases. My question was rhetorical about "are we too stupid?" The answer is no, absolutely not, we are just not sufficiently directing energy. Thanks for taking the time write back Randi.

Great rant ! Like Thom Hartmann says, the best way to fight despair is to channel energy into action. The little battles we can fight to win in your article is better than doing nothing. Reverse non-violent disruption toward the greater good is a start ! One uphill battle is educating the ignorant. A friend told me the other day, he was okay with T taking control of North , Central & South America. Putin orders for sure !Reversing this dark madness is absolutely necessary ! Rant & fight on !
